I feel for you Jon. Maybe you can't get all of it but that would really be a shame to turn it down. Any place else where someone might let you store it for a while? It would not leave much of a mess and would be very quick and easy to clean up so you'd leave the place as good as you found it. Somebody's garage? I'd try to come up with something, but it seems like you could get at least 3 of those in your Subaru.

I'm hoping to get some at least - we'll see how much. Looks like it may have to be tomorrow, though, because I have to go to work shortly. Fingers crossed there's still some left.

At least email back and offer to help load that truck in the pic and help unload it at your place.

Do you have a Lowes near you Jon? Some of them rent trucks as well. If you could get a bunch of that it would be well worth it.

I'm sorry, but my reaction to that picture of your back yard was to laugh. That is one fine support you have for your deck.

I often use my old lawnmower trailer. Any friends have one you can borrow? Rent one? Where there's a will, there's a way.

I have a dually but I also have a 6 x 10 trailer. Sits a lot lower to the ground with ramps or help from wife I can use a 2 wheel dolly and load the biggest rounds on trailer. So far has worked really well. Bought a 12 v winch at an auction recently really cheap gonna rig that up to.

Yep, it really is. Thanks. Those racks hold a tad over 4 cords. Depending on how many spousal eye-rolls I want to endure, I can get about another cord on top of the deck without making it useless for typical deck-type purposes. More than 5 cords on the property and it's no longer funny.

As to this oak, the last thing I heard was that they were trying to arrange the moving away of some business vehicles that were making access to the wood difficult. That was several hours ago, and they've since taken the ad down. Maybe I'll hear back tomorrow, but for all I know it could be gone already. :(

One and three-quarters, it turns out, making each round about a tenth of a cord.

Here's what's still sitting there, in an affluent suburban back yard.
