As requested.... The stove is a few steps through that deck door. That's the barrel where ashes go with my stick/kindling bucket on top. Placement checked for proper door swing. Only cold ashes are dumped in. My stove has a removable ash tray. Very rarely are there any hot coals. There's an air space between the can and siding
C mon over Mitch, I just got offered 30+ Oak logs right around the corner. 2' to 4' in diameter & 6' to 18' long.
where is that from...CL or FBM? I came thru 66 in Marlborough late today on the way home and saw the hardwood log deck is gone. There is now a huge mound of what looked like softwood. EWP mebbe. I cant take a load like that. Why dont you take it? What town? I have a score for tomorrow. Few blocks away fresh cut roadside red maple and...you guessed it, red oak! Discovered by accident (seems the only way i score good wood) on Sunday...drove by it!
That’s in your neighborhood. North haven or Hamden. Doubt they deliver out my way. FBM. Gotta pick up the ash at my sisters house tomorrow. Was nice to use the trailer again but it’s time to get back to processing. Hoping to put a dent in the pile I have. Come winter there’s a lot more in the woods I have to get out. Yep, just driving around is a good way. My phone app went screwy the other day and brought me down some little side streets in East Haddam I never knew existed. Lot of ash laying there. Have fun!
must be tornado wood then. Fresh cut from damaged trees. I came down 395 from Boston area and took route 14 to Windham center. Saw a few areas of roadkill along 14. Nice drive though. How much do you have to process yet?
50-60 oak logs. Guesstimate. Now this ash too. And ten logs of that beautiful black locust. Gotta get that out of the yard before the snow flys. It’s taking up the spot for my snowbanks LOL.
