We used to build stuff, frequently dangerous stuff.
    It's a wonder we didn't get killed.

I found the recipe for gun powder in our encyclopedia and after a quick trip to the local general store, we had all the ingredients. We put our math to good use to calculate amount from percentages. Never got it to go bang but it sure put out a nice rocket like flame when we packed it into a used 30/30 shell:hair::hair::bug::bug::jaw::jaw:

Have you seen the new lawn darts? An enlarged left nut with wings? How’s that gonna stick in the ground?

That’s Texas Roadhouse. No more throwing shells on the floor. Might get a cold from it starting in 2020. Also no more line dancing, that might catch a cold too. GR was for kids pay a penny a pound that you weighed. Endless supply of popcorn. Clowns. Movie station. That was the restaurant side, we partake in the lounge. 49 cent wings when a Boston team played or a U Maine team was on. Good beer specials. Happy several hours daily. All you can eat specials every night. Place has gone to chit now!

Nah, I'm thinking back in the seventies. We have a fairly new Texas Rowdyhouse. I don't go there because it is too loud. Too loud for me anyway.

We got a roadhouse back in the 2005 era here. It’s nothing like it used to be, corporate worried about getting a cold. If you want peanuts now you have to ask, they bring a little bag of nuts and a can to put the shells in. Also nowhere near the amount of people going there as there used to be.

    corn husking tool
the machine with the rotary handle might be a cream separator or has something to do with milk.

That husking peg's leather hardware is in a lot better shape than the one I have. Those creamers, a lot of yard art, bet they were expensive in their day and reduced the work load.

The guys got it right. The strap wraps around the wrist and you hook in the end of the corn ear to peel off the husk. I have been amazed at some of the older guys (when I was a kid) just how fast they were at husking corn this way.

The cream separator was used a lot many years ago. I remember especially during the 50's when the local farmers went on a strike against the milk companies. This is back before bulk milk tanks and the majority of farms had milking cows. We used to send around 14 cans of milk daily and were considered the largest farm in the area. When the strike hit we began separating cream, which we could sell at a local creamery. A neighbor would come daily for the skim milk as he had a large hog farm (fortunately far enough away so we rarely could smell it). Before the strike was over we were separating cream for several other local farmers and by then we rigged up a small electric motor so we did not have to crank it by hand. That was a huge relief!
