this is what I pmd you....

"The orig tracking info said that it would be delivered today. They attempted to bring it out on Fri... of course no one was there.... we werent expecting it. The slip they left said that they would redel today before 10:30am. We waited here til 11:30 this morning... no show. Had to go to work. I called in and tracked it and they said they attempted at 12:30. I told them it was 2 hours later than the slip said. So, I have requested that it go into one of the facilities and they are supposed to call me within the hour and let me know where I can go pick it up."

Our entire property is gated. I have a 90lb Pit Bull that sits on the front porch waiting for me to get home. No one comes on the property if he is out. Even my parents call from their car before opening the fence. An inconvienance for them... but my children are safe.:D

Glad your finally getting this saw Steven. :D

Yeah, my UPS driver can be a Pain. But the last 2 times I had a delivery, I left a note where he HAD to see it. This note had my number and both times he called. Both times it worked out great! After the last time, he saved my number and from now on, anything that requires a signature, he will call or text me.

I have an old friend in FL, who has had PBs for years, nicest dogs around. It is the owner that turns them into problems. None the less, just the sight of one will give you pause!

agreed. There are no bad dogs born, only bad owners and what they create in the animal. Same goes for firearms... guns dont kill people... people kill people.
I got into APBTs years ago and wanted to be an Ambassador for the breed. Ive had some phenominal dogs. The one that sits on my porch has an extensive vocabulary. I swear he understands me without a word spoken. We have put alot of time into him though. He has always been included in family activities, lives inside, etc. You get what you put into an Animal. The European Doberman we have, we drove to SC to buy her from a reputable breeder. She is showing real promise. I will be training her on a jute sleeve when her adult teeth come in. Right now, we just play tug of war. Love my dogs as much as I love anything. I understand animals and can relate to them more than I can relate to people. Id choose the company of my dogs to just about anyone other than my family. One of my favorite movies, "The Tender Years" 1948 was about a young boy and father who was a Pastor, intervening in a dog fighting ring and taking a vicious fighting dog (only a boxer) into their care.... protecting it from the owner who saw the dog as a way to make money with dog fights. The pastor actually goes on trial in the movie, since in truth he is concealing a dog that his son stole to save. Anyways, he said in the movie that, "a boy and his dog can have the longest conversation, without ever a word uttered, and they understand eachother completely." It's always stuck with me. I believe those words to be true. I grew up in a home where animals were an unnecessary expense, and not allowed. In my adult life, Ive fostered and rescued dozens of dogs, and owned a few in the process. Now that Im a father, I see the importance of animals teaching my children responsibility, and the need to take care of something, as you would yourself. I want my kids raised on something other than tv and playstation.

Some folks talk to animals, but almost none listen to the animals.

Good Luck.:p The 288 I have is my favorite saw that I own. Plan on passing the saws on to my son when he comes of age..... but I may be buried with that 288.:D There's just something about them. This NOS one is staying in the house on top of my armoire..... If I have to look at Kari's shoes, purses, and jewelry... she can look at my Holy Grail saw.:dennis:

64s are a special model for Stihl, just like the 10mm 044. Husq 288s=Stihl 064.... just pick your poison. I got my 288 from Randy, I was a diehard Stihl guy but wanted to try a Husq. Went to see him and asked if he has a big Husq he would sell me. He pulled his personal 288 lite off the shelf. Fired it up and I couldnt get my check book out fast enough. It was my first Husq and I will never part with it. I believe the 2 series Husq saws to be more robust than their replacement 3 series saws. In my mind, they are classics.

That 064 is a Monster! ! If you ever get a saw to replace it? I am 1st in line ;) lol

I was raised the same way. If we had a dog or cat? It was for a very short period. When I was graduating, I got my 1st dog. She is still alive and almost 17 years old. :dex: I have had a few others, but their time was much shorter on this earth. My current puppy is almost 8 months old and is like a 3rd child. He is an inside dog, unless we are home. Then he goes outside, but does not leave the yard.

17 years old. Working at Walmart after school.... buggy pusher. Was helping a customer with her things and it came up that she breed Great Danes. I wound up spending 2 weeks paycheck on a beautiful Blue Merle puppy (all paws and ears). It was my dog, I paid for everything she needed. Had her for 10 years and had to put her to sleep bc of bone cancer in her rear leg. In her eyes, I was the only thing that existed in the world. That dog helped me grow up and taught me alot in her short time with me. Putting her down was the hardest thing I have ever done. Didnt want to rob her of life, but also didnt want her to suffer. Ive lost other dogs, but that one was the hardest so far.

Dogs will teach you a lot about life, that you didn't know. .

They live in the now!! They don't care about yesterday, or tomorrow. They want the "Now" to always matter to them.

Got the 288 this morning. Sitting in a sealed box on the kitchen table right now. Just got home from obedience classes for Ne'kee (Russian for Victory). Gonna do some paper work and then unpack the saw.

Steven, I'm glad you finally have the saw. I hope it has arrived without damage, I used my normal method of packaging for shipment which has proven to be substantial enough to prevent damage from shipping. Let me know immediately if you find any problems. Remember the bar is under the bottom foam packaging sheet. Chain, tools and manuals are in a seperate bag inside the main compartment.

You will now have to update your sig line, LOL!

    Enjoy!
