Answered a Facebook marketplace ad today for would that was already cut to firewood size rounds. What I saw in 37F842BD-CED6-43E6-A939-95A5AB1AEB13.jpeg 0C6A35FA-AD40-4116-8500-092568587A37.jpeg the picture was Norway maple which I really like as a firewood. Got there and there was the Norway, but also variety of white oak. It does not look like your standard white oak to me. What do you all think about what these pictures look like as far as variety of White Oak?

Dark like white oak is on the heart wood, but rings look fatter than I’m used to. Pencil thin is what I come across.
The highest piece and at the back of the pile, that looks like what see for white oak.

Might be swamp white oak as the bark is often described as more flaky than regular white oak.

Looks like normal white oak to me. Maybe limb wood farther up the tree??? Bark is scalier there.
    Great score btw!

Sifting through facebook marketplace requires a box of kleenex nearby in order to wipe the drool off my face.

Maybe some day in a land far, far away, there will be an official FHC envy and drool cup.
