They don't even have to actually go to war. Just the rumor of it is enough to cause oil prices to skyrocket.
JT, pardon the newb question, but is it confirmed that Eagle Valley is in those bags? The CleanFire Pacific I burned '14-'15 was also re-bagged Eagle Valley, which we liked very much.. Which is why I'm asking. Thanks, Rob
Got from a really good source. I'd bank on this. They may look a little different as Upton has a mill in the bagging process that re-pelletizes the fines(from bulk shipment) back into pellets. And they then mix them back into the batch, Or use them at the end of the run. Never got a detailed answer on how they are added back into the stream........
Actually the CleanFire Pacific were probably Pinnacle, not Eagle Valley...but they are extremely close in spec....both are a very good pellet
They are in fact Eagle Valley and yes the fines/dust are converted back into a pellet and mixed back into the regular line as they are made ( or re-made, depending on how you want to look at it) and it's pretty much impossible to tell the difference as all we are doing is taking down fall pellets and making them back into a pellet again...same product, same fibre, not adding anything other than steam and pressure...
JT, Doug - Thanks very much for that info, much appreciated. Hamshaw Lumber Keene shows the Super Spruce on their website ( and they're local! ), going to pickup some this week and give them a whirl.. Getting excited to try the first new product here of the season! re: Upton re-pelletizing bulk shipment - that's cool they have that level of operation: no sense wasting good product. Thanks guys!
i can vouch for the skids... 2 of mine were pretty bad this year... they are a good pellet though. I can't tell a difference between them an lacrete's.
The oakie plats I started season with are much darker than the eagle valleys I saw at BT today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So what's the take on Eagle Valley? I can get those out here cheaper than some of the other brands (they're a mixture) for $20-30 bucks a ton less than I can get DFs. Still, I'm always curious.
That is because the Okie Platinums that BT has are not the same pellet as the Eagle Valley or Northern Warmth Super Spruce...So the fact they look different is because they are not the same pellets.....
I just confirmed with a supplier out west that they package the same pellet product in like 6 different brands. Anybody that has worked at ANY production plant knows this to be true.
