Northern tool coupling Gaurd. AKA the Chinese puzzle

gas tank is rusted really bad on the powerhorse and the plug boot has corroded off.
Figured a few minutes to take the 8 bolts off motor base and coupling gaurd/pump mount and pop off coupling with my puller.

Not to be. The coupling mount has no way to allow either half to pass through.
Ended up hitting with Kroil taping towards motor to break free then 1x wood strip with prybar and tapping with hammer until it finally came off.
Plan is a new Predator from HF..... If it matches up

 

When you put it back together,,,,,,,, copper never seize on your shaft is your friend.

 

Fortunately it appeared to have been assembled with some moly neversieze

 

I'm pretty sure the powermore was the same same drop in replacement for the predator. IE, same thing, just different reseller.

 

Little hiccup on direct bolt in for the predator.
The dualsplitter beam travels just past the engine (2x4 in photo) original motor had the muffler in the same plane as the side of the engine.
Going to drill two new holes in the mounting plate and two holes in the engine base should give me a 1/4" for the beam and 3/8" for the tire on opposite side

 

Well, that sucks, but at least it's not a deal breaker.
