It seems simple, but when your on the mountain for 10 days and everything you have is in a pack on your back. Puts into perspective the difficulty of packing extra weight for 40-60 miles and multiple days before consuming.
Apparently if I had been up at 2:00 AM last night, there were northern lights displaying their beauty over the north end of Vancouver Island.
Great pics. Great stories. Great memories. Your boys will always remember those trips. And how great of a father they have. I hope some day i get to see those northern lights. God's paint brush.

Great pics Rope, amazing that you can capture them...I'm assuming you're taking the pics with your phone? I know usually when I take a pic of a sunrise or sunset with my phone, the colors in the pic do not show up any where near as vibrant....so I can only imagine what you're seeing in real life. We use the Aurora forecast the the University of Alaska-Fairbanks does. They have a big program and part of it is the forecast.
