With the price of oil so low I will be surprised if there is a shortage this year.

Co worker paid $1.49 to fill his oil tank week or so ago. Crazy low. He actually added a second tank this year, so big score for him.

I agree, been saying for a long time that pellets at $300 a ton will drive people back to conventional heating sources.

Heating oil in CT went down to 1.30 last week and today at 1.35 if you’re smart on where to buy from

Wow. Using the calculator, oil is almost half the cost of pellets, especially factoring delivery, using $300 per ton.

But this is more fun than burning oil.

If you have the oil option. We are all electric so I can't play the dino juice game. Gonna need to do something about that soon!! Plus we are about done with the lake life(too busy). Need to find a quite corner somewhere.

I stocked up on oil and pellets....I am good for the winter. I just dont know that the metrics we apply, and have applied for years, are accurate anymore, civen the world situation we currently find ourselves in. I hope its a non-issue.

I purchased 3 bags at Lowe’s the other day.
These weren’t that bad, I have definitely burned worse.
And I haven’t been on here for a couple years so hello everyone

Just got a delivery of propane Wednesday (boiler for backup and hot water).

Yeah, pellets are a lot cheaper for me.

Hey T-BONE , nice to hear from you

I grabbed a couple of bags of Northeast Pellets from an HD I was passing by last night. Stopped in just to see what they had since I don't normally travel in that area.

These pellets are definitely not my favs, far from softwood. Lots of ash and clinkers.

Put some in the P43. The good - a lot less ashy than the GS Northeast blend. The bad - these flew thru the auger at a feed rate of 3 and at mild outdoor temps (40* this morning). They also smell really strange and are crumbly. Haven't taken the burn temp yet, will try to catch that today.

So these are cold burning pellets in my stove at 210* (in airstream of heat exchange tubes). I don't have record of anything burning that cold, although I would bet that ThermaGlo's burned colder (I never put those in the P43, so no temp recorded).
