We haven't even had a frost! Gee, this is late. We're actually two weeks late already. My firewood sales are slow, indeed. And if I look at online classifieds, everybody and his brother is selling firewood. In my locale, the climate has definitely warmed over my lifetime. I'd rather it not, it's too dang hot here. Summers are brutal and the winters are becoming boring. I like weather, lol.
Delivered firewood in my area is 300$ a cord and up. With no promises about dryness or seasoning. Seems to be plenty available, though.
Whats crazy is I have been hearing how there is a firewood shortage in Alberta cause people were using their fire pits more cause they couldn't go out. Too bad its illegal to transport firewood.
I've heard about a firewood shortage here in NJ as well. If I had known, I would have jacked up prices for new customers.
I’ve sold everything I wanted to. Lots of repeats and some people prepping with covid. Seems to go out as quick as I can sell it here
I cant keep up, turning multiple people away every week. as fast as i cut the dead standing it sells before im finished making it. I put myself in a hole last year, not doing that again.
I need winter & frozen ground to get here. Both skidders are ready to go, but I'm pretty limited on access right now. Had the same issue last year. It needs to get cold.
Firewood is all back ordered here. The sellers aren’t even advertising it on the little mountain websites up here this year. But there are lots of people posting that they desperately need it. I don’t sell it, but I give a little bit away to friends and family here and there. Makes me happy that my dad taught me to run a chainsaw and swing a maul.
Trying to stay out of that hole too. I have wood all over the place to saw and haul but deer season starts Saturday here. A man has to have some priorities.
Oh yea i got wood everywhere too.my dad and I got nice 7 points last week so im back on the wood. Lost a couple days to butcher, burgers and sausage
I feel your pain! Deliveries and sales kept me out of the woods in September and into October, then deer season hindered my cutting, so I’m just getting started!
There's one company in the southern part of my state that sells 1/2 cord of kiln dried 'bug free' hardwood for $1,299.00. Firewood Guy - Menu of Prices for NH kiln-dried Firewood
WOW, now that fellow has got it figured out, lol. He's getting those prices if he is still in business. I wonder how long he has been in business. Hmmm... his copyright at the bottom of his web page says 1997!
Yeah, and apparently he's ripped off enough naïve people that he can successfully retire and sell his business... "Turn-Key" Firewood Business for sale or Heavy Eguipment for sale -... (craigslist.org)
