Stupid question, but how do you get the pellets in the silo?? Sounds like a great system

They have trucks with augers that deliver bulk pellets, they'll drive right up and offload them into your container. I haven't been able to nail down pricing, but apparently it's cheaper fuel wise, so if you're already building it should be cheaper on the long run.

Does that slide work in reverse to bring up to the stove?

Quite some years ago, south of me,wealthier people got into pellet boilers.Colorado springs area.Pellets were delivered in a bulk truck, and gravity fed(mostly) to the furnaces.BUT, not a stove! Was quite popular, down there,a while back.

unfortunately, the folks who have trucks and do those deliveries aren't that common.....and you likely wont have the advantage of choosing different brands

Us too, first year in a long long time we wont be relying solely on pellets. For many years we didnt even have a furnace. Last year we went solar, and this year had installed a whole house ducted heat pump. Our plan is to mainly use the pellets, and to either use the units "fan" function to distribute the heat better or set the heat pump slightly behind the pellet stove temp so it only kicks on if the stove 1. cant keep up or 2. decides to error out in the middle of the night.
