    It's close to the house; just across the ridge. I am not sure why they died but we've had so many die and that is why we cut off all the pines several years ago. I suspect we'll have to cut a few every year.

    BC got hit with pine beetles a few years ago and millions of Jack pines in the interior of the province died. Acres and acres of dead jack pine were seen. Some of the beetles made it out to the coast as well.

    Geeze, I haven't been to Silver Lake since I was a kid. Been to Sleeping Bear and Grand Sable Dunes many times.
