Yeah Nat. Gas pipeline is about mile away but they wanted 12 grand to bring to house so no 2 it is. of course IS is secondary. I know lots of people that use wood here but very few as only source. hard to heat an old house with just wood at 40 below...
And another thing...why does New Mexico stick out so anomalously? 7.1 surrounded by states that are all at 2 and lower.
My first thought was this was due to population numbers. Until I looked up the population of New Mexico at 2 million. You got me on this one.
Yup - easy to see the same effect in NH. Lop off that lower right corner of NH and the rest of the state would jump up in percentages to look just like ME and VT.
What a coincidence, look what I got just asked to fill out. I wonder I skewed the firewood use figure for NJ?
I do believe you are thinking correctly my man... but wait I thought the news media was saying the economy is kosher as ever...hmmm. it's inflation it's demand in general it's also heavy handed epa regulations also.
Don't forget, the fabled minimum wage has been raised 3 times so far in 3 years and alot of companies are adding projected costs of it to the cost of their products.. hell I tried to get a double cheese for a dollar at macs house of kangaroo beef just this eve. What cost 1 dollar a year ago is now 1.89.. tgats almost 100 percent increase..just a thought ..
Nah, all the mills around here send crooked knotty logs to the firewood processor and the nicer strait logs get the slab.. my friend sold 12 poplars to a local supplier for 2400. The guy estimated 1600 bd feet could be produced. Usually mills don't make much from firewood. Slab wood is often sold the most. 2.5 cords of slab wood cost me 170 in central md. It's a great deal. I cut all the cord wood I need from a 20 acre lot for free in past 3 years Tho..
