Thanks, I am gonna look into those. I have a solid concrete wall to go through so I don't need a big thimble. I would prefer a simple cover.

Forgot to ask, do you guys get condensation from the outside air? Thinking about using 3" insulated flex duct to avoid that.

Open the door, take out the ash pan, and tell me how many holes are behind the ash pan?

On the ash pan itself? Or in the stove?
    Why do you ask?

I get some condensation on the pipe when it gets really cold out. If it gets really cold (below 10 degrees), it freezes. I put an aluminum pan under the OAK to catch whatever drips off. I thought about wrapping it with insulation, but it doesn't happen often enough for it to be a real problem.

Congrats on the arrival of the furnace. Now the fun begins. :dex:

And hopefully you don't have as much fun getting yours in the basement as I did. The landing at the bottom of my steps was about 2 inches too small. I didn't factor in the size of the tires on the appliance dolly I rented. Had to get creative with some 2x4 scraps, a car jack and some luck to get it undone. Its hard to see in the pic, but the furnace was in the air about 5 inches off the landing and was tight up against the wall. Its not easy getting anything large in or out of my basement.

Luckily my garage leads into the basement with only a door threshold in my way. My strength and a 2x4 for leverage, up and over the saddle she went.

I had a feeling, thinking of doing the 3" insulated R8 flex duct to eliminate that. Or do the vent pipe like you did but get the insulation sleeves for it.

For the outside, I was reading it should have an angle or cover that blocks the straight winds from entering.
How about something like this that has the angled louvers and built in mesh screen? image.jpg

That should work. The one I used was pretty similar.

The holes are where the combustion gasses get sucked out into the venting. Mine has two small holes. I believe the newer ones have one large round hole.
