I have been looking online and came across people using registers as takeoffs. If that's the case I could use them on top and stay up high with the 10" duct.

Assembled the return air duct trunk extension tonight. I have to seal the other side then insulate. To do this project right it does take time I noticed. image.jpg

For many of you, it's really a "honeydoNOW" list. I know one guy who runs to get them done before smiley_fryinpan.gif

Look on the bright side...with all that hot air over the holidays, you won't need the pellet furnace those days at least!

I put a thin bead of silicone on the cap before I reinstall it, then cover the cap with foil tape. Easy to remove the tape and pop the cap off when cleaning.

Tripp-Lite IsoBlok comes in white or black. They can be had for less than $30 on eBay.

As for the Clean out T. I just used high temp foil and wrapped around it.

    Looks good. Very nice job!

I have tomorrow off. I hope to make some head way on my new hot air supply off the furnace. The starter ring never came, but I never used one before. So I will do without.

    Thanks!
10" takeoff collar? I have an extra one if you need it, let me know.

I see there is a back draft damper and regular manual damper. The backdraft damper looks like a butterfly type damper and is operated automatically with air pressure. Is it ok to use the manual damper?

Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving! I myself fried a great bird everyone enjoyed.
Friday I went back to it since I had to take a break from the furnace install. Made some more progress....I was able to mock up the heat duct. Now I have to seal and insulate, and use real hangers. I used weed wacker line in the mock up lol.

I emailed Farenheit and the engineer there said its ok to insulate with fiberglass silver back from the very start of the heat duct on the furnace.

Don't mind the mess in the background. Everything will be straight and clean.

Any tips, or constructive criticism is welcome.
