Read a couple articles last week.
I love the tactics they use to make people think that wood stoves are the biggest polluters...:startled:

Electric is better because it uses fossil fuels ...all in one place:rolleyes:
    :picard:
Natural gas is no longer allowed in new construction in new york city under their new laws

That's what I was thinking. Everyone in these areas needs a cat stove.

I have a hard time believing that anyone would enforce such laws. The guy who lives at the end of my road is a Deputy Sheriff. He burns more wood than anyone I know. Super cool guy. He tells me all the time about stuff that the sheriff’s office will not enforce. They are still human. The cops have bigger fish to fry than people heating their houses.

But, there are people out there that totally get off on the power to enforce such laws...locally the city inspector is one of these people...I was there when he admitted to several people one day how much he enjoys the power to make life miserable for people if they don't jump when he say's to.

Isn’t it the plan to get rid of local police anyways?

It would make sense in those areas with air quality issues, especially since they often have rebates to incentivize replacement of old smoke dragons with current/up to date models of solid fuel burners, to make those current low pollution models exempt, if for no other reason than to create further incentive(s) to update/replace old equipment.
    but they won't.

That’s unfortunate. I don’t understand attitudes like that. I guess there will always be a jerk in the crowd.

The benefit of living win an area with the Sheriff as your public safety authority is they don’t have to enforce ordnance or title laws they believe to be overreaching.

the situation in NY would be a State environmental law. That means a state authority would have to enforce it. They may try to throw game wardens at it, but they are pretty sparse and shouldn’t be distracted with that

I live in Oregon and I've just kinda trained myself to ignore most of the henhouse laws and regulations here. The governor of this state is the biggest waste of oxygen in the universe and is solidly hated by 100% of anyone who likes guns, chainsaws, hunting, fishing and the US CONSTITUTION! Alot of the county sheriff's here will not enforce any of their nonsense laws or regs .I would like to see Greater Idaho happen, but I'm not sure if everyone agrees on exactly what Greater Idaho should be. Would be great if everyone could just leave us Rural folk alone. Listen to Hank JR song "the coalition to ban coalitions" lots of truth. Why can't everybody just leave everybody else alone.

I hear ya, bro. Colorado is the same way. Denver and Boulder control the whole state - due to population density. The eastern plains and mountains are very conservative. But we don’t have a voice. It’s extremely frustrating.

This sounds like one of those politician's projects that get "leaked" to gauge popularity (or lack thereof) long before anyone's name gets attached to it.

I'm burning garbage in my old smoke dragon burn barrel right now. Getting kilos not grams of particulates at the moment. Gotta do something to combat the dope smoke coming from the 75 year old californian hippie down the road. :D Don't understand why that generation loved that smelly stuff so much. It is like a beetle's concert now they legalized dope on the first.

Some old railroad ties split small, soaked in used motor oil, gets the full size pieces of old railroad ties, and hunks of worn out tires Burnin really well, that should do a good job for your needs.

It does tend annoy my neighbors, which is a real shame, I have some Dayum Good neighbors, but when it comes to keepin the Family Warm, a guy’s gotta do, what a guy’s gotta do

    Doug

Be thankful you have good neighbors Doug. I think all your bad ones moved to Montana. Just burning trash outside in burn barrel. 5 cents a pound to haul it to the dump now. Adds up faster than one would think.
