We had to go to Buffalo today. It’s been a few years and I knew what I needed to stock up on: hot dogs! Canada is a barren wasteland when it comes to franks. Natural casing hot dogs are the best!
    Hofmans - Syracuse
    Zweigle’s - Rochester
    Sahlens - Buffalo

I must be a simpleton with regards to hotdogs. I like Nathans or Hebrew National. :grizz:

Those brands are better than pretty much anything we have up here....especially if you get the natural casing variety. Those don't exist in Canada

Natural casing is a must for me ; the snap you get when you bite into it is what makes it.

I agree with Hummels. Has to be pork and beef. It used to be millers in Stratford,Ct. but they went out of business years ago.

You have no idea. It’s a fierce competition around the upstate NY area for sure! I have to take about 10 pounds of various dogs to my relatives in SC whenever I visit. Along with webers mustard and Louie’s slime sauce.

The zweigels white hots are pretty good if anyone who can get them hasn’t tried yet. I’m true to the sahlens though!

That's very interesting to me. Never heard of all these brands. Store hotdogs here, Hebrew national and Nathan's are top shelf eating high on the hog. Never heard of the slime sauce...makes me pause for a second reading that...

Nothing like throwing a hot dog in the deep fryer for 20sec and finishing it off on the grill.

We've got our own different brands of top notch hot dogs here in Wisconsin. All those German and polish sausage makers between here and Illinois. Hey I said something good about Illinois.
