That thing is a beast! I sometimes get the thought that I "need" a big saw for milling. So I start looking at saws like a 395xp or an MS 661. I have never considered 121 cc saw...YOU MY FRIEND ARE A MAN.
Dumped gas, blew out air filter, sharpened chain, cleaned out around sprocket. Plan to buy a new bar, but ready for tomorrow. I checked it close when I bought, but clean. Dwarfs my 461 and makes the 310 look like a 009
Hey, you got the older version with the clamp on muffler, even better! Supposedly those are stronger saws than the newer bolt on style muffler. I've only ever had the clamp on style, so I can't confirm.
Thats a beast of a saw. Whats the displacement on a ms880? I have ran an 084 and thats a workout. Congrats on your purchase.
Older version, what year would that make it? Guy told me 2 or 3 years old, I figure in Craigslist terms that is 4-6.
Skipped hunting this morning? But tried out the saw. Aside from being heavy, I love it. Snuck out for 30 minutes and made some rounds before the snow starts.
Well, seeing as the white decal is still on the tank, you can see exactly how old it is. Look on the white decal (on the foot pad) where it says DOM the digits after that will be the month and year it was born.
Odd, the sticker is there, just no date unless I missed it. Spent the last hour plowing a foot of snow. Love winter
2009 just tells you when it was born, it's not uncommon for large saws like the 880 to sit in dealerships for a long time before they sell. Most dealers in my area don't even stock the 880 because it's a slow mover. The ones that do stock them, take a long time to move them. I know one of my local dealers that still has a new 088 on display for sale. I wouldn't let the "born on" date worry me at all. I've bought 660s with the original receipt that is 2 years newer than the "born on" date.
