New use for your splits

    I wasn't for the incandescent to begin with. Just giving opinion on construction. I'll step out of this thread.

    I don't know, the best light that comes from my splits is the light they put off when they're ON FIRE!!!! :p

    If I were building one I would bore the center hole to desired size then drill four .25" holes around the perimeter of the center hole.

    Cut the individual slats, run all thread through the four outside holes with washers between the slats for spacing. Counter sink top and bottom holes for nuts and bolt it all together.

    If I were building mine, I'd start cutting the wood into pieces, throw them in the fire and enjoy the warm glow. :p But yeah that's a good suggestion, I bet you could get by with only two holes around the perimeter to allow more light through.
