    Hello

I bump into the stove today so I took some pics, Very impressive. Just secure the mounting plate to the studs and cut the hole for the standard exhaust PL pipe!

Manual shows safe and easy install!

What do you pellet people think about it?

I'll wait to pass judgement until after the heating season and any structure fire reports come out.

If these follow in the footsteps of the window mount stove, then it may be a good idea with not so good execution.

Did you happen to see if USS is making these themselves, or are they made in China like the window units?

All that said, it would be handy for a shop, but I wouldn't trust it in my house.

Gotta say if this doesn't burn your house down it is quite the improvement over the window option. Very interested in seeing real world experience with this.

It most definately is an improvement. If the exhuast vent on the window unit was not installed or came off it was a real danger. That cannot happen with this stove. There are other improvements in the firebox too! It just maybe a real good unit now! I would like to try one. Maybe I will build another shed for it. :)

    I'm with the others..

The window unit seemed like a great idea.. Until the firebox rotted away and it became a fire hazard.

This seems like a great idea as well.. I will wait for the reviews and threads to come in.

I know people are Leary, but according to my technical resources the part in the fire box that was trouble is not only made better but is replaceable. Also the exhaust system which was the cause of the fires uses pl type venting now! Very encouraging!

A replaceable firebox part that was trouble doesn’t make me particularly impressed, first I'd be trying to get rid of the cause of the fire box part needing to be replaced. Just color me yellow striped.

I feel the same way. If it's replaceable? Then it was designed to "fail" at some point in its life. Otherwise, it wouldn't need replacing.

I get that.. But I expect my motors to fail.. They are removable and replaceable.

My firebox... Is not... ;) Just sayin..

As fast as them Chitvies are being recalled, More likely a GM junk pile they are getting the scrap metal from. :p

It is a likely design problem as much as a metal issue that said junk metal is common in some places.

My burn pot is both removable and replaceable but if it falls to hell in a hand basket it isn't likely to touch off the hopper and the house. If my heat exchanger decided to do that likely the house is going to be toast. My heat exchanger really isn't something that was designed to be easily replaceable (lots of parts have to come off to get to it). Did I ever mention that you have to be a contortionist to work on my stove when it is in place on the hearth? Bear wasn't bending too well towards the end of burn season last go around.

Yeah but designed to fail is a non starter in the world of product liability.

Like everyone else, I wouldn't go anywhere near this thing. Plus, at 16,400 BTU's it isn't going to heat much anyway. And I don't think too many people are going to want one hanging on their living room wall. So about it's only use is a shed or basement, and it wouldn't heat my basement.
