I've got about 30 birds in the freezer right now...let me know how they turn out...if they're good this might make its way onto my wish list.

I threw the basket back in and reseaoned the sides(the blacker its gets the better it's supposed to cook) ran it for 15mins and brushed the crust with a wire brush.
The drain pan liner catches all the drippings looks like a short cake pan or any foil line would fit it.
I think an wide roll brush will be needed to brush the bottom, it wasn't but a couple spots and the basket cleans up with a wire toothbrush after cooking it off

I'm curious if beer can chicken will boil the beer inside as the heat comes from the vertical surfaces of the drum and not directly on the bottom.
It will probably cook fine either way - shoot we're 2 for 2 on turkeys:smoke:

OK, since I drink bottle beer had to run out and get a 30 pack(beer just never seems to go to waste around here) having cooked beer can chicken on charcoal for many...many years decided to try it with the "Big Easy". Rubbed the 31/2 lb. bird with cajun spices, (could be why it came out dark) but I will tell you after an hour it was dinnertime. Nice and juicy and probably one of the best beer can birds I have cooked.

Man o man, how easy is this?
I mean, my brother bought one of those oil filled jobs a few years ago, used it once or twice, and it may still be sitting in his garage with the oil in it. Yeah I know, he's an idiot, but you get the point.
Very inconvenient. This however, looks awesome.
Shopping time. I'll throw out some hints to Santa.;)
I'd cook in this thing all year long, from the reports.
ETA: Amazon is showing about a million different versions. Some are electric.
