Yeah, "leatherette" is out there. I can say that my Audi is all leather. That's the nice thing about Audi's. If it looks like it's something, it really is that. If it looks like aluminum, it's aluminum. Is that wood? Yep. Real wood.

In some cases the fake leather is just as good, or better, but other times, not so much.

I have plastic floors in my new work Ram 1500 works great I always had carpet in work trucks but when you get in with boots caked in red clay the cape is a mess till it all breaks down and rubs to powder from the fiber. The vinyl gets a mess but can be vacuumed or swept out when dry.

The vinyl flooring has the running W king ranch brand embossed in it under the floor mats so it must be a king ranch option.

The two best times of the year to buy are.........August, when the new model year starts to hit the lots and the manufacturers throw some extra rebates our way; and new year's eve, when the dealerships want the vehicles the hell off the lot for tax reasons.
Different manufacturers have different pricing structures, but with Ford you can rest assured that you got the best deal you could get if you buy it at "Triple Net," meaning invoice minus any rebates, minus ALL of the dealer 'holdback' which is noted down on the bottom of the invoice. I always buy at triple net, and give the dealer whatever they charge for the dealer fee- that way the sales person gets a little something, and the dealer covers the admin costs of paperwork, registration, etc. The dealer and managers can make their money on the volume bonuses from the manufacturers, not hit a home run off my deal. It's always been a win-win for me.

Deals like that are exactly why I only spent 1 year in sales at the Ford store...pretty hard to make a living when you make $50 (minimum per unit) on selling 10-15 new vehicles per month. That and the lying...not me, customers! I tried to be totally up front and honest and all I got for my time and trouble was lies, lies, lies! Don't miss is...not even a little bit! :headbang: :hair:
    Rant over...

I try to be the best customer ever, though! I zip in, do a fast, straightforward deal, and zip out. I don't even test drive, I've already done all my research ahead of time, and unless there is some great manufacturer's finance incentive I'm carrying a check from the credit union. Usually I am in and gone in under an hour. And, I am a self admitted vehicle whore, buying one just about every year, 18 months tops. Further, the dealership makes theirs on the back end from me- I always service at Ford.

Dealers lie, customers lie, eh. It's all part of the game with car sales. I just want the best price, and I'm no BS. Feed me bs, I'll feed it back. Shoot straight with me, I'll be direct and no games as well.:handshake:

I read a really good article recently on how customers lie. The best of the worst it's " the dealer down the street offered me this much" to get a better deal. If that deal existed, you'd take it.:loco:

Well, you do sounds like my kind of customer from the no BS and make it quick standpoint...at least I'm not wasting a ton of time with you for my $50, like with many (most)...and yeah, the dealership makes some money in the long run, just not the sales person.
And you pretty much have to play nice with people when they are yankin your chain because of those darn customer satisfaction surveys that get sent out after a new vehicle purchase...everybody makes a huge deal over those anymore.

You know how many times I've heard that? Usually right before being fed a heaping helping of steaming BS :picard:
Like I said, good riddance to that mess...I'd rather take a fast food job than do new car sales again! (hope to never have to do either)
    Truth!

Am I the only one who has never bought a new car? Dang seems like everyone does it. The one car I bought at a dealer was CarMax and there is a price on the window you pay. And then that vehicle was 8 years old when I bought it.

I buy all of my diesel trucks new, since I don't know if the last owner broke it in the right way, and whether they were using it to tow ridiculously heavy loads up mountain passes with a performance programmer on a "race/hot" tune.
    Gas vehicles, I buy used.

Those surveys! I'd like to just tear it up and use it for toilet paper, but the poor dealership folks from sales to management are in a panic over the survey. "If you can't give us a 10 in every category, PLEASE PLEASE let us fix it so you can. We'll sign over our first born child for a 10..." I give them the 10's because I think they literally get taken out back and flogged if they don't get it. The survey is the curse of the modern Era for marketing...you can't go take a chit nowadays without getting bugged by the toilet paper company wanting to know your opinion.

I have driven 2 brand new trucks for my work vehicles, as in I was the fist and only person to drive them after they were delivered. IE they were moved at the factory and from delivery site by a driver. One had I think like a dozen miles on it the other had maybe 25 to 45.
