Consider myself a bit of a maker(thanks for the skills dad, grandpa) so the dare to do, isn't so much a dare, but more Edmund Hillary "because it was there"
You should check out wwwbaileysonline.com for bar and chain I like the Carlton speed tip for the price or check out the weedeaterman and put a sugihara bar on it
So I spent 30 min of quality time with the Chain and a file, Grabbed the dremel and a grinding bit and ground down the safety tabs a bit and HOLY CHIT!!! This saw runs like a raped ape! I haven't even ported the muffler, so Have that to do, can only guess it will get better. I have settled on a 18" bar with a full chisel chain. Searching the net for a deal. Until then I have the little 306a for smaller stuff and the 395 for everything else. Still planning on a skip tooth chain for the 24" bar, but Ill prob run with the safety for a while looking for a good deal.
Here is one Husqvarna 608000156 Oem 18-Inch Replacement Guide Bar $29.99 http://www.vminnovations.com/Produc...000156-Oem-18-Inch-Replacement-Guide-Bar.html
I have been seeing 18inch bars and chains for $40ish Forester Brand. Most likely a knock off. Im ok with that.
If your buying a bar n chain combo, just check to see if you will be getting the chain you want ,cuz they may come with safety chain
I did they do, but a buddy called and said he has a couple of bars, 18 & 20, and a half a dozen chains for free, when he bought a new saw it had the larger bar mount. Yahoo, all I have to do is help take down a small maple in his yard... the horror.
It's already hot rodin , had it up to about 760 one time , there is no lack of draft when it gets real cold for sure
Haha, I was referring to insulating fire brick vs regular and a refractory coating, quicker secondaries at lower primary air settings.
