It's not terribly light. It is listed 7.1# without scope and it's a little over 8# with the scope. I think (?) Tikka uses the name "Lite" for anything with a composite stock; whereas, the "Superlite" is their most lightweight hunting rifle at 5.9# in 6.5 cm.
Finally got out to the range to sight in the new rifle. Once we got the scope doped, it shot 3 rounds in ~1/2" at 100 yds from the bench. I'll never be able to blame this gun for a bad shot.
As a hunting rifle, it's excellent. Off the bench, well, it's not really set up to be a bench rifle. I realize 3 shots is not a true accuracy test, but it's pretty darned impressive considering those were rounds 14-16 down the pipe and the only box of ammo we tested. David
Sounds like a nice rig. My .308 is a terrible bench gun. Loud...snappy...etc. But it is great toting around the woods and can punch holes further out than I can ethically make a shot.
Back to the range today w/ dgeesaman Good times. I added a Limbsaver butt pad an now this rifle has nearly no felt recoil. The group on the right w/ 3 of 4 touching (yes I'm a novice and yanked the one shot) was using some reloads Dave cooked up for me. (100 yds)
