Well a couple weeks ago I went to the dealer and told them i want a new saw...
" don't carry the 241"...the 261 is bla bla bla........
    I really wanted the 241...
"we have a couple used 250's, why don't you try one and if you don't like it, just bring it back"...
    ok I'll try it
    ten minutes later...

    I'm swearing up a storm
the piece of junk wont run more than five cuts on a 2" branch then boggs and stalls
then, I realize there is oil running out of the saw.

(wife just looked over my shoulder here as I'm typing, pauses and says "dealer says this oil is normal")
(she returned the saw while I was at work) :picard:

What bar did you end up getting for the 241C?

can you tell me the difference between pm and ps , is it just guage .43 vs. .50 ? are the teeth the same size ? so to simplify what is the difference between the chain on a 170 and a 241 , thanks mm

The 170 usually uses PMM series chain. That's Stihl's .043" 3/8"P. PM vs PS is exactly like RM vs RS if that makes sense. PM is semi-chisel and PS is chisel chain. Both are .050" gauge and your MS170 can share bars and chains with the 241. I don't think I'd want to run .043" on the 241 but the 170 could run .050 if you wanted.
