New echo 620 came in today. Put it all together and cut a cookie. Can’t wait to cut some wood this weekend!
New saw day is always the best! Wait till it properly seats the ring for a proper assessment. My 357 took several tanks then it came alive.
Looks like we both had new saw day on the same day! Congrats man... Today is less exciting though. I want a do over...
Better than cutting cheese... Congrats on the new saw...looks pretty spiffy! Only ever had one "new" saw day myself...and that was only after a couple "where the heck does this part go?!" days... (Farmertec MS660 kit saw)
Awesome. Nothing like a new saw especially after having issues with another. Did you sell the 311? Too bad about that.
You should look at the makita 6100 too. Only slightly more money than the 620 echo, but still way less than the comparable Stihl, but less weight due the the magnesium pro style case, and more power too. A friend of mine was in the same boat. Wanting a 60cc saw. While he liked the idea of the 5 yr consumer warranty, the more power , lighter weight, and pro saw construction for a minimal price hike were big factors that swayed him. At any rate, the 620 echo sounds like a great saw. Hell, my old 029super still runs awesome after 20+ years and tons of use and that's a clamshell saw. It needs a new bar though. It keeps doing that "arc cut" thing
I'm not looking (well, always looking ) for 60cc saw. I've got a Husqvarna 555 that I really like and am impressed with. I just think if I was buying new I may shy away from the electronics of AutoTune. The 555 does nicely, though. Sent from my SM-G930VL using Tapatalk
Pretty sure just the sprocket cover is magnesium on the 620. If the case is magnesium, then echo needs a better advertising Dept.
The 620's are magnesium. They are totally a pro saw and I'm quite certain the sprocket cover is mag as well on the 620. The 590 and 600 have poly covers.
Got 400$ for it, sold it first day. Had multiple calls on it. I called around to see what they were selling for new, and was told they were back ordered. I guess quite a bit of demand. Guy was happy, I was happy. He was a retired fire guy from Oakland. Gave him a extra chain scrench, cover and had it sharpened up nice. After using the echo 620 I wish I would have bought this saw first.
