My brother and sister-in-law bought some land near our cabin, and he is very interested in learning about wood cutting, and how to build up to a three year plan before they build their new home up there. This will not be a problem because there is a lot clearing to do. So I am giving him one of my old saws. I also wanted another saw to replace my 30 year old Husqvarna 51, which I really like, and am sure he will too. So I just bought this beauty: 261c-m and a few other goodies.
Congrats and have fun with the clearing. Hopefully you and your brother get along well enough he will listen to you. He should have enough dry he can start having a fire as soon as the house is up.
We get along great...always have, along with our two other brothers. There will be some good times when we are all blessed to be up there together, God willing. Plus since I am gifting him the saw, so that solidifies things even more so .
That is a great saw. I have a 260 pro and it hits well above it's weight. Good times ahead for you and your brother!
51 would make a great first saw for a newb. Not terrible fast chain speed and totally reliable when cared for. You I’m sure will love the newer tech. Should keep you happy for many seasons! Congrats.

Yep congrats on the new saw. That will get you motivated to get out there and cut some wood. I always look forward to running a saw I have not run before.
