Looking good, Pete. It really is that time of year, isn't it. Hopefully next year, I will getting a greenhouse and garden started.
Looking good bro......another season of veggies! We need rain bad......hoping to get clipped with this tropical storm on tuesday!
Pete, I thought you'd get a kick out of this story. I was visiting with my bro yesterday and his neighbor stopped by with a shovel in his hand. Seems he needed a post hole digger as he was making a fence and needed to kig some holes for the posts. He proudly proclaimed that he was making a fence from pallets! "They're good for a lot of things" he said with a big grin. I was thinking...if you only knew!
Pallet Pete, My in-laws manage the local sanitary land fill, the other day my Mother-in-law calls my wife telling her to stop out and grab some shipping crates to use for flower planters, I was pleasantly surprised to see some very sturdy 12"x12"x48" boxes made from all 1x12 pine, with a doubled end on them, a lot better then I was thinking I would find in the lumber pile at the land fill! Any whooo.... I got them loaded up and started to poke around and see what there was for pallets to stack wood on, while looking at mountain of lumber, sticks and pallets I thought of you and all the possibilities... Bad news is the wood shredder was set up to shred everything the next day, but the good news is, now that dear MIL knows I want some pallets to stack wood on she is watching for bigger ones for me. Ohhh the possibilities.
I am sorry for the sloooooww response fellas I am having a hard time getting online right now... yooperdave that's very funny brother... I helped a buddy build one and have had two others stop to see mine after word of mouth made it too them. The wife says I have a cult following lol.. O lord that's nice!!! Probably would get yelled at when all that found my place. I'd have to build a dog house for me first.....
Sets? What kind? I was going to do those from seed, but I don't think that'll work this far north. Haven't tried yet, though. Started my Blue Lake GBs on the 14th in the little cheapie greenhouse, and they started sprouting a couple days ago.
We found boxes of them at Meijer on clearance for 1.74 with 120 sets in them so I purchased Stuttgarter and Snowball sets. The yellow are the Stuttgarter and the white are Snowball.
Hows that little greenhouse work for you Dave? I have been debating a small one for seed starts also.
