Many many many more... Didn't even start on the trees in the back 40.
The forecast for WV isn't too terrible. Hopefully we have lots of mountain shade.

Careful down there...I've spent enough time on WV roads to know the log and coal truckers run those mountain roads like they are driving a sports car and being chased by the cops...yellow lines are just a suggestion for them...sometimes by necessity due to long wheelbase in tight curves, sometimes just because! :startled:  :hair:
Trucks slapping mirrors on the curves as they pass each other is not exactly rare...:faint:

Visited the honey hole today. Got some pics of the back woods trees too. I probably won’t touch that stuff till fall when the temps drop significantly. Here’s today’s load.

Tony (land-owner and old boss) had no idea this happened. Looks like lightning struck it!

So I delivered the trailer load to my Dad and he needed a pine fell. So after all that, I'm bushed.

Right beside power lines and another tree. Fell right where I aimed.

Today seemed a good day to start splitting some of this oak. I still have wood on the ground at the honey hole. Hope to mill some soon.

    Mmmm, love the smell!

Bout blew out my man parts lifting this one. Not so much lifting as carrying a few feet to splitter. I try to pile the heavies up off the ground so I don't have to dead lift so much.

Then dad came over and we loaded up his truck with the neighbors box elder.
    IMG_1252.JPG

Stopped for lunch and drugs. 2 advil with lots of fluids. I'm feeling it already! Been making these oak splits a bit larger since I installed a bigger wood stove. These babies should give me a good 12-15 hours per fill. Can't hardly wait!

That's some beautiful wood. Pulled muscle is bad, but a hernia is alot worse. Get a board and make you a ramp to roll the big ones on, noodle them or go vertical with your splitter for the big boys. I wonder how I know...:picard::whistle:

Having so much fun I decided to work through lunch and order Chinese takeout. Slowed the splitter down and ate while I split.

So couple trailers s/s’d and a couple taken to the basement, where my wife and daughter stacked it down there.
May hit it again tomorrow. Weather is supposed to be 50’s and nice.

Might be tough playing hooky or calling in sick to work when you are cutting wood at your bosses house:whistle:

    Great looking firewood!
