Welcome Steve33 and congratulations on the new house! Just the kind of language we like to see in a post! Sounds like you have a good start on the firewood reserves.

Steve33 we are about an hr away. As it gets closer to spring, you'll start seeing talk of GTG (get together) Backwoods Savage and his wife, Judy normally host the first spring time one. Normally runs Friday to Sunday. Some of the folks start showing up on Thursday, most on Friday as generally have plans to help a neighbor or some such thing. Bring the wife, kids, dogs and a dish to share. Oh forgot the most important thing , saws and axes. A lot stay right on the property. Teepees, RV's, campers, tents, with a few staying in town. They are a lot of fun to go to. You also get to put names to faces.

Welcome to hoarders Steve. You gotta be a good guy with a name like that and live in PA .:D The ash looks like it was mostly dead. If you look at your pick with the saw on it you will see brown and white wood. The brown is more dead and will dry faster. The white Stihl has some sap in it so slower to dry . Dead ash limb wood is sometimes almost dry enough to burn right away.
