    I would have taken that white oak also. That punky outside makes a bit of a mess in the house, but I can't waste white oak. You have a very nice woods with nice mature trees. Looks like the perfect place to hang out during retirement. I'm looking forward to that day. :)

    Worry not about that pithy or punky on the outside of the oak. It happens to almost all oak but it won't do any harm and the wood is great.

    Welcome to the nut house. Don't worry, you will get up to speed with this wood hoarding thing soon enough. Take it slow - don't want to get ahead yourself in this game. Before you know it, you will be a year or two ahead and cool like the rest of us. :binoculars:
