Snapped up this sweet little Super EZ Auto to compliment the 1050 in my collection. Bought it as a non-runner, didn't take long to get it up and running. New fuel line and a little carb cleaner in the carb to free up some stuck diaphragms and needles and we were off! It's pretty similar to my Remington SL-9 so I guess I should do a comparison vid eh?

This saw while not in flawless cosmetic condition, is is very good shape. Came with the original case (beat up) and almost all indications suggest it is a super low-hour saw. The grips are flawless, showing no wear at all. Some paint chips, most minor. Had what I believe to be the original bar on it, complete with the safety tip guard. Also wearing original Homelite branded chipper chain. The only suggestion that this saw has been used for any amount of time is the nearly worn-out spur sprocket and a paint chip the size of a nickel on the top.

That's awesome. Some day I hope to have a 2100 Automatic (or similar),3100G (early 70's 100cc gear drive) & a late 70's 750 (6.8 cubic inch/112cc beast, their last hurrah said to be a worthy competitor to the Mac 125) in my stable.....

Don't know much about each one,but do know they're cool.

Very good 40 cc saws, I have 4 of the red ones and picked up a blue one a couple of months ago.

I wouldn't mind a couple more big Homies in my collection. The 2100 and 750 are on the watch list for sure. I wouldn't call the 750 their last hurrah tho (maybe for 100cc+), Guido has a nice collection of 8800's (did I read somewhere that that series wasn't designed by Homelite?) that proved Homelite had some life left in them going into the 80s.

Wow Gary, that one looks nice. Where did the green wrap handle come from?

I wouldn't mind a blue EZ for the collection either. They are some of the best looking vintage Homies IMO. They should have stuck with that color scheme if you ask me.

Nice classic to keep in the collection. Something about the look of an older saw that I love :)

The green handle was on it when I got it (and notice the CL saw linked to above seems to be the same color). That was a Homelite color back into the '50's.

Has a combination decompression valve and throttle lock seen on the right hand side of the back handle. It actually needs the decomp, she yanks back pretty hard for 40cc without it!

Homelite had A LOT of life left in them, up until the late 80's. When Textron sold Homelite, is when crap hit the fan... (late 80's).
BTW, the 540/8800 was engineered by Solo and manufactured by Homelite.

Mine is identical to yours in every way Gary, even condition. I found it at a farm sale a few years ago, it is a nice runner- and loud!
