The X's on those trees are perfectly marked, wonder who did those Especially sorry I missed this one as I wanted to play....err I mean work with the Tonka Toy, but WeldrDave knows I'll be back.......Nice work and looking great!!!
Hello Gang, Made it back to "Hell" safely and it feels like it also! Drove through the night, got in a quick nap yesterday at the motel and shoved off about 8pm. Got here in some of the best time ever and never exceeded 70mph, "To scared with NJ tags"! ... From Brattelboro, where the motel was to my front door 6 hrs 30 min. As usual, can't "ever" sleep past 6am but made it to 7 this morning. Gotta unload the truck here shortly, calling for heavy thunderstorms and high winds with rain here after 4pm. "BIG THANK YOU"!!! To MikeInMa for the assistance! And, Midwinter who is a "TRUE" hoarder if there ever was one! . I think I have her talked into a MS-250. She said her local shop has new ones on sale for $299.00. For those who had to deal with life issues, there "WILL" be another time! There is plenty of wood for all, "Trust me"!!! All in all after I went back and did a brief count we took down about 24 trees. Most were 6" to 10" in diameter. Many saplings 3" to 6". It's starting to look like a "lot/homestead" now vs. a forest. After I get the truck unloaded and get stuff put away. I'll get a few more pics up this evening!
Dave's back in hell!! The boonies are safe, once again......for now. Glad to hear you got back withoout issue. Time for a new thread - "New Hampshire wood cutting in October"
I gotta make sure Chrissy can come this time, before I post anything. We need to iron out the house issues before hand.
Thanks for the info! I'm no electrical wiz but I'm a "huge" question asker!!! Just the military in me; Yes, it is a 1987 Coleman but what I did "before" I did any connecting was to make sure I spoke with the manufacturer of the pump and made sure my Warranty wouldn't be "Void" if I ran it on the Gen, I also asked the well company the same. Next, before leaving here, My High voltage electrician friend from the USCG and I ran the Gen and tuned it in to 60hz on the nose under load. The next thing "he" did was hook up a THD tester on it and it came in +- .5%. The Gen was putting out right at 240V +- a few volts occasionally. They all felt comfortable with me running it for a "Brief" period of time. I ran the well about 15 mins on two seprate days just to get a flow and a sample, "which" may I say was beautiful!!! And, very cold!!!
Nice pics Mike!!! To give some folks an idea of the size of that pine, that saw had a 24" bar on it. I think after I measured it it was about 27" across.
I gotta say that since back on "Flat ground" surrounded by concrete, my knees are starting to hurt like crazy! It wasn't bad up on the land, yes I had my aches and pains but "DAM"! I don't have the best of knees anyway...
here's a pic looking South, in front of Mikes van is 7 more acres that haven't even been touched yet, not until our house is started and livable down the road. What you've seen in the pics is about 2 acres.
Hoping to go back in October Buddy!!! Maybe a "road trip" with us? By the way, all those "X"'s you marked are gone!!! We have a new batch now!
Midwinter ,it said somewhere above you may be interested in a ms250 and your local dealer has a special ,i know there are 2 or more stihl dealers in nashua ,but please consider taking a look at chappell tractor ,it's right next door in milford at the jct. of rt 13 and 101 ,i have bought at least 20 stihl items there ,chainsaws ,cutoff saw, trimmer, blowers etc. they have always given me very good deals/discounts ,ship parts to me ,give me gifts when i am there ,i cant saw enough about them ,i have actually brought them donuts ,something i have never done at any other store in my life , as far as a special price all dealers that are serviced by northeast stihl can and should be offering them ,at least stop in on your way to winchester sometime ,it is right off 101 ,the post and beam building alone is worth the stop ,not to mention the giant fireplace ,and just because you are a woman i will say they also sell clothes the manager of the power equip. section's name is jeff ,they are wonderful.
Glad you made it back to Hell safely That is one good sized pine that was taken down. Smart man - you aren't afraid to ask questions, which you've already shown on other threads
I know exactly where Chapell is, I never realized they were a Stihl dealer. I'll have to stop in, the selection at Nashua Outdoor is fairly meager. Thanks for the info!
you will love it ,oh there is free coffee upstairs great pricing on chains too they have the full stihl line on display ,they even have the ''orange saws ''
All in time my friend, It'll happen. I have lots to do and I have to pick away when I can. Once were "freed" up here in hell, We/I can concentrate more and more up there.
