No woodlots for me...would love that but it's just not in the works. I am a wood gathering whore. If you can think of a way to get firewood, I have attempted it through the years. Most of what I've been getting for the last 5 years or so has been from tree guys (mostly 1). I've gotten a lot of logs ranging from reasonable in price to free. I also know most of the farmers in the area and some years are better than others but I would say I average 10-15 cords a year from their projects.
Wow!! You need to share how you stretch 10-15 farmer projects and tree service cords into 125-130 sellable cords. The tree service stuff must be quite sizable. Now that's scrounging, for sure! Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
It took years to make the tree service connections but my moms farm is easy in easy out and once we have a good working relationship they can come and go as they please. I pay in cash when they ask.
Have really enjoyed your pics and posts on another site. And love environmental science although I didn't study much on the subject until I was in college majoring in biology!!! Let's always be cognoscent of protecting our planet earth
Thanks. I will add more pics and conversations as time passes. I'm really liking this group so far. Very friendly.
Neat story. Close to home for me. My dad taught/coached high school for 32 years. Even taught a environmental ed. coarse. Including canoe outings and a yearly backpacking trip to the Rockies each summer. He also cut wood every summer. With me in tow. Not always thrilled. Now I can't get enough. Twist of life!
