Wife is checking today if the friday before n the monday after is open for vac. days. If this works out...I plan on bringin up my 2 pellet pooper smokers so I can do 2 wagyu briskets. I pmd well seasoned for close motels. Hope this all works out...lookin forward to it.......oooohh ...by the way....will my poulan wild thing with a 36" bar be sufficient???
I was thinking I probably couldn’t do another GTG this year, but I just read thru the guest list and menu... And I just had to RSVP as a maybe. Looks like the trip from my house to Whitefield NH is 498 miles. I think this could be a sign from the wood gods: my house to Dennis’ in Chesaning MI is exactly 497 miles. I’ll have to carefully gauge Amy’s reaction, as she’d probably have to stay home with the boys. Bandit was just wonderful on our trip to the OH GTG last fall, but Teddy gets carsick and I don’t think he’d do well on an 8-9hr ride.
Ill be putting info up this weekend, hotels, etc keep a lookout. Also, anyone who is not on the attending or might attend list, try to get on it. Ill be sending out my address, phone # etc in a pm
I hope you can make it out Shawn. I'm sure I can chat up some woodworking conversations with you. Anyone bringing an Isocore? I'd like to take one for a test drive on some rounds.
I can get there for Saturday but can only do 1 day. Got stuff lined up for Sunday I have to take care of . It's only about 3 hours for me out route 2.
I'm excited to see old faces and some new ones too! One thing I've found going to these GTG's is they NEVER last long enough. They're always over too fast. We couldn't make it to Dennis's this year, my son's prom fell on that Saturday. He and I were both bummed. But Chris (cwn877), his fiance and I did get to the Upstate NY GTG for the day last Sunday, and saw several guys from our site as well as OPE Forum. Including Mastermind, Adirondackstihl, and RI Chevy. Several others too, just too many faces to put names to..... Brian, is it OK for us to tent on the property? I'd bring my tipi but I'd never be able to haul the 16' poles up on the roof of the Durango.....lol
Come Friday night, we all need more time! It goes too fast! I'm hoping to get there on Thursday, If That Is OK with Brian....I have an emotional affair with the state of New Hampshire.....lmao.
I'll bring my big antique hand wrought iron skillets (one is Rev War era, the other is Civil War era), I can whip up a big campfire breakfast on Saturday morning if anyone is into that....
I'm hoping to have my better half along......convincing her to camp for three nights, that will be a feat though.....
same for me, 110 miles. I am in the Augusta Area. Planning on Saturday for sure. Grandson's birthday on Sunday. He lives here.
I too was hoping to get my travelling done on Friday. A good 3.5hrs. All I'll need is a spot to park my minivan, and that'll be my house and bed for a couple of nights. Brian, I have a 10x10 EZ-UP type of popup canopy, if that's of any help. Plus a few other pieces of campsite equipment. Praying for good weather. Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
Love the idea; thanks for the offer, but it doesn’t seem right to accept that offer from anybody except We’ll Seasoned. We will see what that weekend brings. Looking forward to it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
