Took the Echo 590 out for its first actual wood cutting use the other day. Let it warm up until the muffler was nice and warm, then laid it into a good sized chunk of fir, it sliced though it like butter, made 5 cuts and let it idle down then shut it down until it cooled off. That was about 15 min total cutting time under power. Checked out the oiling, it was good, but, i turned it up just a little more. Then, i went to a area with some good logs and cut about 10-12 rounds that measured 18'' in diameter, didn't get in a hurry, let the saw do its job.

Today went to my friends place, he was cutting brush around his property so i got into that, same thing, cut for about 30 - 45 min, then shut it down, and checked to see how it was oiling . It was putting out a good amount of oil, and the saw was running perfectly, but, a little too high of an idle. It was mostly maple, about 2-4'' in diameter. It does a good job, i had to adjust the chain 2 times. I"m liking this saw the more i run it, but, it does need some type of handle bar cover, or some good tacky type tape run around it. Its a little too slick for me at this time. I've run about 2 tanks full through it at this point, and i honestly feel its running better than it was when i first got it. Might be my imagination, but, it seems like its pulling harder. I'm sure it'll take several of tanks of fuel before its really broken in. So far, i'm really pleased with it. I opted to get the 20'' bar instead of a 18'' bar, not that much difference, and it works great. The dealer told me, they normally run 24'' bars on the ones they normally order. So far, choke on, first pull, pops, 2nd pull choke off, it'll fire right up, i take that as a good sign. :)

ha, ha, i thought some one might bring this up, no i did not, we were up against a time thing, no time for pictures, by 3 AM yesterday it was predicted rain was on its way. We stopped about 2 am and soon afterwards here comes the rain, and its still here today. Next time, we will remember to take pictures.

Yep the saw will run better as the rings seat. Sounds like a winner.

I never had any trouble at all from mine
    5 year's cut a lot with it.
The only thing was putting a rubber oring under the air filter on the horn
    To keep fine dust out.
    Good saws

If I didn't have close neighbors, then the lights and 2 AM cutting would be an option in the summer.

My friend bought one 2 years ago. Great dealer I bought my CS 400 from him, set both our saws for our area before they left the shop.
I got to run Johns saw a bit and liked it. When I am in the need of a 60cc saw it will be a CS 590.

Pictures some people seem to think we all have all the leasure time in the world like them. Some of us have to work by our selves and don't have time to be fooling around with a camera.

Go to the youtube web page put in Echo 590 and you can find several vids of 590's running.

I have 2 590's one with a 20" bar, and one with a 24" bar. I've done the limiters and muffler mod on one, but not the other yet.
I also have a 490 for my small saw, also cut and moded.

Sort of, however going from one 590 to the other with fresh chains on both, the moded saw doesn't bog as easily, and definitely cuts a little faster
