Still cutting for 2 houses Rock and dont like watching TV  These saws are worth the cash so far! :)

Not used to using the 20'' bar and is not needed all that much Pete, so thinking another 18'' is coming home next week for the 550.:coffee:

If you have a 20" on your 590, I'd go smaller yet, like 16" on the 550. Save the weight, less time to sharpen (ok, that's a stretch ;)) but mostly just less weight to sling around. It's all about how the saw feels in your hands however.

The 590 came with an 18'' and the 550 came with the 20'' MM? But with what i pick out around here the 16'' on the 550 is sounding like a great idea.

Slap that 20" on the 590 (are they the same mount? I'm no expert on Echo's) and save the 18" for a backup!

Yeah, the 590 being the bigger saw, the 20" on it, and a 16" for the 550 sound perfect. 18" goes on the wall.

Either way you have to buy a bar, and the 16" bar and chains will be somewhat cheaper than an 18".

    My pennies. .

Beautiful saws and beautiful pics Loon.. Thanks for sharing! ! :)

I really wanna try a 16" for chits and giggles.. :hair::saw::rofl:  I use the 20" heavily but I can defiantly see and will probably buy an 18" for it after I pick up the 680 and or 800p.

Actually I'm pretty sure I'll save up for Randy to Mastermind my 590 after I get the new toys :D. I just can't resist this time.

Hey DexterDay what is the big advantage of a sugi bar? I'm considering buying a new 72dl right now and removing the 70 on it....

The durability on the guide rails and the lighter weight..

The Tsumara is a tad lighter and the color scheme will go better with the Echo. The Tsumara has a double row of lightweight inserts, as opposed to the single row of inserts in the Sugi.

Nice pics. Those rounds will be easily split by hand. I prefer that to the log splitter.

Are the Tsumara bars Carlton brand? Making sure I'm looking at the right bar....

Carlton sells a bar that is made by Tsumara. But a Tsumara light and tough bar looks like this ..

Carlton branded like this.. Still made by Tsumara. But it's not a lightweight bar.

    Cool!
I got a CS590 for x-mas but have only run a half a tank through it 'cause I had relatives in and then it got too cold. I'm apprehensive about sawing into frozen wood. It seems like one nice saw though.

Had to bring em in lastnite as i left them on the bike last week and had to use the 4 wheeler exhaust out
in the woods yesterday to free up the 590. This is the second time the chain came off the 550? both times has been with me cutting an 8inch tree and it hitting a little limb in behind it,so aint blaming the saw.

They are gonna get a good cleaning today and might head back out later for some more of that ironwood.
