I've had this happen before, except the bug was an angry wasp stinging me! I was out mowing my lawn, and didn't notice a huge paper wasp nest up in the tree I was mowing around, until the bastages started stinging me! Unfortunately my face was their closest target, and in the process of swatting at them, I punched myself in the nose and swatted my glasses off my face. And I'm blind as a bat without them. Took me two hours to find them!

 

Did you have another pair of glasses ?

I did have another partially broken pair, inside the house the house I couldn't find!

But no, I just crawled around the yard on my hands and knees looking like a dumbazz..

 

Bifocals here. Probably over 10 years now.
A little too close and I can't see anything but a blur, a little too far away....same thing.
Worn glasses since the age of 12.
Ever try playing football while wearing glasses? I never lost any, but I broke 'em a lot.
Had a fastball foul off a guys bat, then hit my glasses frame, which ended up pushing the frame into my eyebrow.
Looked like I needed a cornerman the way it was bleeding.
Long story short......wearing glasses sucks.

 

I never thought about playing ball and things like that because I didn't have to start wearing glasses till I got old

 

You check out laser surgery. Wife had it done years ago. ( she was 20/800)
wore coke bottle glasses forever.
First morning after the surgery she woke me up, yelling "I can see, I can see"
1 st time she ever woke up & could see.

Didn't need glasses until recently , & just reading glasses.

 

Yep, thought about the laser. I've known a few who've had it done.
One guy was back in '98......had it done on a Friday and was back at work on Monday.
Wonder what the cost is nowadays.

Being a kid, playing ball with glasses on just kinda happened.
