    Stove has been burning rich lately...Question is, the splines on the auger that are in the heart of the flame have been reduced by about 75%, do you think this may be preventing the auger from cleaning the burn pot? I have had to shut down and scrape the burn pot lately and I do not like this!! New Auger?? Thank You for any thoughts!

    Once the stir rod has been eaton :)/chewed/burned/rotted away?

    It's time for a new one my friend. The pot is able to fill to a much higher level, which reduces air flow.

    Since we have the same stove, can you post a picture, I would love to see it. Also Eaton not to derail your thread, but question for you. The right side of the glass, is where I get most of my buildup. I noticed today the gasket that holds the glass in is worn away more on that side compared to the rest, have you noticed this yourself?

    I will post a picture next time I shut her down...Same with the glass build up, My gasket still seems about the same all the way around, but I will look more closely next time I open it up.

    No. The one Englander uses is stainless from the factory, and mine is in great shape, even after 4+ yrs of burning.

    That's what I thought. I really didn't think those would ever wear out unless they were constantly rubbing on something or made out of bad steel.

    My Omega came with the original welded agitator and not the newer invested casting version. Mine is getting thin after its 5th season. I have heard the cast is only lasting around 3 seasons. I found this one, cheapest I could find. It sold before I could snag it. :confused:

    eaton, Let me know if the fella will make them for the Enviro's


    What I see wearing them out is the carbon build up on the liner. If you haven't done the liner mod(drilling more air holes) it might be a venture to check out. Specially if you allow the carbon to build up enough to make the grinding or howling noise when the agitator turns.

    Mine is starting to show some wear. My stove is an '09 model. A few of the prongs/points are getting noticeably thin. Not time to replace yet, but probably next year.

    I seem to burn more than most of you guys, I think the auger should have been stainless from the factory, but who knows!!

    I don't understand the carbon theory...If the tines were getting shorter this would make sense to me, but mine are the same length, they just went from a cylinder shape to a conical shape.

    I will let you know JT...but I am doubting that he makes them with the coupler...could be wrong!! If he has them I will order one as a backup, but for now I am going with OEM.

    Mine is SS. The heat has made it skinny and the tines are also skinny. The ends are worn from the carbon that sticks to the liner. About an 1/8 inch shorter than when new. I also think the new cast version is SS, But I'll do some digging to confirm.

    Here's a bad picture of the auger...you can see it looks like the middle tines have been whittled to a point! New auger has been ordered. Thanks for your help!

    Only 3 years old...Somewhere around 15 ton of pellets. Seems like it cooked too fast??

    I've gone through at least that many pellets, and probaly more, plus mine was a refurb and i know the stirrer wasn't replaced. Mine looked like this at the beginning of this winter:
