The very first thing I do when I buy a used saw is to pull the muffler to see if the piston is scored. This guy has had it for a month now and wants his money. No way this guy has messed with it and could have damaged the saw himself.
Tell him he has voided warranty.

I'd be shocked if he tries to go any further than this after you sold him a non running saw.

Actually, realizing that a month has passed - I take back my previous thoughts. He bought a non-runner, and hoped to make it an easy runner. A month later he realizes it won't be easy, and wants to return it? Sorry.

You made it perfectly clear that it was a non running saw, parts or repair. And now a MONTH later he wants a refund after messing around with it?  You owe him NOTHING.

I have several unfinished ''projects'' sitting on the shelf, except for 1 of them not much is needed besides carb clean/rebuild,fuel lines/filter & a couple other minor fixes. And all were sold to me as ''not working saw, parts or repair" :handshake:

Am quite pleased with each one,not even for a second did I think of trying to get a refund from the Seller.

My FIL used to have a scrap business and when people asked (jokingly of course) if he offered any warranty, he would always say "yes, as long as I can see your tail lights".

It was offered and sold as a non - runner and it is STILL a non-runner.

So what has changed that he wants you to buy a non-running saw from him?

30/30 warranty.....30 seconds or 30 feet which ever comes first.
