When an automatic transmission can't find the right gear, it will rev to red line, then upshift to the next higher great, and then lug, and then it shifts back to the lower gear and screams again. Up down, up down.. no bueno.
That refers to an auto trans that can't seem to make up its mind what gear it needs to be in...back n forth, back n forth
Ah, I get the idea. Sorry I was talking about a manual on the auto post. But please still have a laugh like I (and others) did!
Hey, sometimes those older stick shifts can be tough to get into gear when the syncros get worn out! BTDT!
I have been known to accuse a particularly "stubborn" mechanical object that I'm working on of being female
True. BUT here, you don't pay sales tax on the trade in value. So getting $25,000 on trade saves almost $2500 in sales tax.
Varies by state blacktail . Some are as you say, based on the price difference, but some collect the sales tax then figure in the trade-in value. I prefer when they do it your way.
Well if the shoe fits.. Seriously, its not male/female its whether you have been taught!! Currently teaching a nephew how to drive stick..
If you like the suburban..... a suburban and a trailer is a thought. A 1500 will drive and handle very much the same. If mpg is what you are after the 2019 Silverado will have the option to come with a turbo 4 banger. Not my cup of tea but definitely fits a market segment. My advice would be to drive everything you can, then go to the make/ models online forums and look for hand calculated mpgs and build/quality problems.
Or the opposite, when one drives a stick 99.999% of the time, take your mother to lunch in her car and clutch foot goes down habitually and clips the edge of a wide brake pedal. Screeeeeching Halt What vehicle are you teaching him in?
They got me a new work truck this spring. 2018 F-350 Super Duty super crew cab with an 8 foot bed and the gas engine. Just a base model XL, the only options we ordered was the tow package, backup camera, and the factory fifth wheel/gooseneck package. It still comes with a/c, mirror defrost, cd player, and other goodies that used to be options. The MSRP on the window sticker was $40,000 and change, but I know they didn't pay that. I've got just over 6000 miles on it now and the few times I've figured mileage it was around 18 mpg. But that figure includes offroad driving on job sites, idle time as I'm fueling equipment and setting laser and GPS equipment, and I'm also toting around a 100 gallons of fuel, 20 gallons of oils and other fluids, and 1000 or so pounds of tools, supplies, spare parts, chains and rigging, plus lots of other crap. I'm a firm believer in big trucks. I've got two F-350's as my own personal trucks. I'll never go back to a half ton. They're just so much more truck for not that much more money. And they hold their value so much better. I'll bet in 10 years that 2018 will still be worth $30,000, if it's still in decent shape.
That’s what I’ve been noticing that a new truck is not that much off the price of a used truck. I was also waiting to see prices of 2018 after 2019 come out.
wildwest teaching him in a mini Cooper (sisters) as only stick left is 67 camaro rs convertible. Which we are slowly restoring so he can take to prom.. Basic lessons were in kubota tractor..
