Many prayers to you and your family.....Champ obviously is a very important part of that family, your love for him shows.

He has lived a much better life than even he could know, all because of the love you constantly give to him. Putting a pet down is hard, but sometimes it's the most loving thing you can do for them to ease their pain and suffering. We had to put our Jack Russell "Mindy" down several years back, it was VERY hard to do.....but she was in total misery.

Hand in there, buddy. Let God guide you to make the best decision.

I love this dog more then I thought I ever would.

This is from his vet visit with our normal vet doctor guy.
Looking happy and acting like nothing is wrong.
I sat on the floor and balled my eyes out next to him.. 13465976_10208447892852247_94378431040316589_n.jpg

Stella has been all over him lately.
She is aware something is wrong and it is the sweetest thing to watch. 13532992_10208450958848895_3141246634651651960_n.jpg

So i went out testing yesterday. Rachel stayed home with Champ.
Saturday morning around 1am Champ had a seizure.
A few hours later around 7:30am he had another.
I left around 5:30am, I was on my way up north, i cried most of the way there.

    Stuff is hard..

So i got back home around 5pm.
Rachel updating me and sending me pictures throughout the day.
The small town i grew up in had theyre 4th of july deal yesterday.
    Champ loves fireworks...

This is what i typed up for my facebook..

Update on Ol Yeller.. Rach and I stepped out for a few to watch some fireworks. Usually Nanner comes with but we were told to absolutely keep him out of the heat and at the time of us leaving the house, it was quite warm out and the humidity was through the the roof. We come home...expecting the worst. We were greeted at the door by a big handsome yellow colored dog!! He was all ears and that tail was a wagging! I love this damm dog so much! When he isn't having one of his episodes or recovering from one... he is so happy. He had some Taco Bell a little while ago. I'm sure sometime in the middle of the night he is going go pepper the floor with chit. It's all worth it though. But...there is some bad news. He is pretty much completely blind now. Which is one of the outcomes of his seizures. And... he will literally attempt to eat my cell phone and even the remote for the TV. So more challenges now.. having to guide him out the back door and back in from going potty. I'll do whatever it takes to keep my boy happy! Papa loves you Champ!!

About 20 minutes later someone thought they were sneaky...

He kept trying to sneak a taco from taco bell. LOL

After the 2 seizures he has had yesterday, Champ is now mostly blind.
We are having to guide him throughout the house, out the back door and back in from going potty.

    You can imagine..

Hold up your cell phone in front of him and he tries to eat it.
Silly as all get out but its pretty sad.

    I love this dog

We have increased his medication as recommended by his doctor.
Lastnight was Champs first night without incident since all of this started.
    So that is extremely amazing.

Right now, he is passed out on our bedroom floor, he'll end up shutting him self in the room
once he gets up with how he's laying currently. I just keep checking on him.
When he's ready to get up, i'll figure it out.

Looks like he is getting Hospice for Dogs. You have to do what is best for him and you. I waited too long with one of mine. She had some avoidable suffering.

Im going to cook him an amazing dinner tonight.
It'll probably be better then anything ive cooked for my self.

    Im not ready..

I was in my recliner lastnight, Champ was 8' away on the floor.
He raised his head and gave me a pretty strong look.
I almost felt Champ motioning that he was ready to go. I just immediately
lost it. I spent around 7 hours or so yesterday after work just comforting him
and brushing him. He hasnt been brushed that much i dont think ever.
I actually stopped getting loose fur out of him, i thought that was amazing. We laughed
about it, he wagged his tail and rolled over onto his back for a belly rub. I wish time
could be rewound.. There will never be a replacement for this guy.

Here within the last 2 days, he has been laying in a real tight spot between my recliner
and couch. Right next to Papa... I reach down and pet him, pet him for hours.
Usually i just lay on the floor, basically laying on his dog bed with him.

I do have to work today, but im going in late because we are getting a new furnace.
Im also getting off work early because today is the day all the puppies get the first go
    around of shots.

I wont be gone but about 4-5 hours.

I sure am going to miss this dog.

    Thanks yall

    Thank you a bunch

Champ still isnt doin well. He hasnt eaten in awhile now, he's gone pee once in about 24 hours.
Almost certain his kidney's are shutting down, related to the very little use of his pee pee.

    Tomorrow is the big day...
Going to be a rough one for me ad my Fiance..
We both took the day off of work.

Champ's dinner tonight consisted of fall off the bone baby back ribs, mashed taters and a
    loaded baked potato.
He has leftovers so he'll get some more of that soon.

Dr Cappa with our local vet is coming over around 11am tomorrow.
He's going to give Champ an IV and inject some stuff, forgot what its called.
I guess the whole process from the start of the injection to Champ's last breath shouldnt take
    more then about 20 seconds.

Going to be the longest 20 seconds ive had to deal with in a long time, we can do it.
We are being as strong as we can be.

Rachel is convinced that he is only hanging on because of us.
And i believe it... This dog is so strong. His breathing is so hard and slow. It seems like
he has to put in so much effort just to take a breath. I love this dog with all of my heart.

My Mom visited us today, she cried her eyes out. My Dad came by and spent a very few
    very memorable moments with Champ..
My Dad shows up and Champ got a burst of energy, it was the most amazing thing.
He stood up, wagged his tail, snorted and shook his head like he does. We even made
it out the back door!! Thats where i broke down at.
Seeing my Dad giving Champ a bunch of love and Champ totally digging it.
I took a few pictures.. I need to post what ive got from the past few days.

We are going to miss you Champ

I can honestly say that i am going to definitely miss coming home from work and seeing
the kitchen garbage scattered from one end of the kitchen, into the dining room, out the
dining room and into the living room. And there you lay, knocked out from all the crap
you just ate, worn out from the effort. Im going to miss that buddy.. You may think
otherwise cause boy did it make me mad.. But you will never leave my mind, i will
always be thinking about you Champ.

This dog hung out with me outside all the time.

You drive down the street and there is always that one house with the large dog..
The humans are cooking out, doing yard work, washing the cars, playing ball or
swimming in the pool.. .And theres a dog laying there, minding his own, not bothering
a thing, just on complete chill mode. Doesnt move a muscle when someone walks down
    the side walk.. Thats Champ.

Tomorrow will be hard for us without a doubt.

Im no sissy girl but i do show emotion. Im going to miss my dog....

    Goodnight

Spent some time with my boy lastnight, woke up this morning and spent more time with him.

Couldnt get him to lift a paw.
He was nearly lifeless other then breathing and shutting/opening his eyes.

    Heart breaking to see...

From day one he has always been called a shower pup.
We take a shower, he has to be in there with us.
He has missed out on the last few showers..

Got one this morning, i opened the door and here comes my boy!!!!!

I broke down, fell to my knees, gave him a great big hug.
His tail was wagging, im letting the tears roll.

Im never going to be able to forget this dog.

I remember the first time we went racing with me.
    He never left the trailer!
I had him on a leash.. He would get up and walk outside ot go potty and right back into
the shade he would go. Didnt bother another soul or even show interest in other dogs
    walking about.

He has been so peaceful most of his life, he doesnt bother a thing.
You know the saying, he wouldnt hurt a fly.. Thats Champ.
He played with a few mice a few times before. lol

    I love you Champ!

We let Champ go around 11:00am Wednesday morning.

Extremely hard thing to do. But he's already doing much better now.
He isnt in pain, he's gotta be getting around alot easier.

Probably up there teaching some obedients to all the young rug rats up in doggy heaven. lol

    I miss my dog

We are doing pretty good thought.

He went quick.. Doc says they fight sometimes..
Champ didnt fight it. He went pretty quickly.
Which supports the fact of him being sick and weak.

Here is Champ, Sully and my Dad Tuesday evening..
    My Dad even cried.

Champ was the favorite of alot of people
