Hi all. I need some advice on a jotul 118. I know this isnt the right forum but its time sensitive. I have a chance to get a 118 but dont know how much they are worth. It is older but the guy said he only used it 5 times. It has a 3 inch hairline crack in the bottom of one of the side panels. Its green enamel. My questions are: Whats it worth? Will it produce enough heat for 1500 sq ft house? Is it a good stove? Thanks in advance
Two words, Buy It !! I have the exact same 118, used it every winter for almost 40 years. I think they are the perfect wood stove. Ours heats over 2000 Sq ft, and the only problem is my wife thinks I keep it too warm, and that is with the air intake barely open. Ours recently developed a small hairline crack in a side panel, I put some high temp JB Weld on the inside and it seems to stay on and fill the crack. It is very efficient with wood, it will take a piece up to 26" long, makes for a 12 hour burn. I would buy another as a back up if I could. Can you tell, I really love my Jotul 118.
