Yep, I think blowers are a lot louder than trimmers. To cover the bases, maybe he needs to wear ear plugs and muffs.
I haven't owned a gas trimmer that I didn't wear hearing protection with. They were all louder than I would use without ear plugs. Saws either. Even unmodified.
Same here. Along with being a heavy diesel mechanic. Some of those big diesels you had to adjust the valves with the exhaust removed and the engine running. My name is Mike, and I'm a hoarder. Lopi Endeavor and Republic 1250
I think it's probably one of those things where if you are doing a quick run around the yard and not pegging the throttle it's fine, but if you're out pretending to be a bush hog on the back 40 you need earmuffs.
I got hit in the lip, right under my nose, with a piece of branch using my brush cutter. I bled and swelled up. Face shield from that point on. Lol
Me too. When I was younger and stupider I used to use a weed Wacker with no glasses no shirt with shorts and flip flops.
Yep, I've gotten hit in the face with hickory bark off the saw, that stung too. Trimmer has had my legs bleeding before. I'm smarta now...lol
I see guys trimming in shorts all the time...I can't understand how they do it, I get hit with rocks and sticks that hurt through pants. And if lucky enough to be missed by the shrapnel, my legs would be covered with poison ivy!
Well of course they are the motorized version of the scythe. In our family, they are known as a misery hook, when I was 13 years old I asked why? Gramps walked to shed pulled it off wall, sharpened it and told me to clear weeds under 250 feet of fence.. 2 hours I was in misery.
LOL So the impetus for this thread is that Milwaukee denied a warranty claim on my power head that quit working. I'm now, weeks later, getting emails and calls from them where they are acting like they want to make things right. Well, Milwaukee, the time to make things right was before I had to go out and purchase a bunch of new tools. I can't un-spend all that money (I'm over 1k in new crap to replace the red ryobi now, and will have to drop another 2500 in the medium term as I retire the rest of my M18 tools and batteries). From looking around on social media, it sounds like they're denying warranty claims en masse to a lot of folks now. Do these companies not realize that word gets around? When tools are your livelyhood you can't risk getting jerked around by your power tool vendor.
