Not impressed, my stove has never been picky but these create at least 5 times as much ash as the Tractor Supply house brand pellets do without getting as hot. Had to supplement with the furnace on cold days.

These pellets are horrible . They have low heat and they are irritating to our noses and throats to the point we can't sit in the room with the stove and watch tv. Just horrible!!

I bought 2 Ton Nation's Choice and I regret every BAG (10) I have 40 to go cleaning my stove every day some time twice if I use a second bag. I will not BUY any more and will tell friends & family to do the same.

Any word on this years Nations Choice? A friend picked up 10 bags at HD today and said they had 2 types-Low Ash and Ultra Low ash? They got the ultra low and say that the bag states that they are distributed from Patriots Place in Foxboro, MA-same as the Inferno Gold.

It would be nice of they were the same since the Inferno Gold I tried last week were pretty good, just overpriced at HD.

I'm assuming they are also the Corinth's like the Inferno golds. Low ash is the softwood blend and the Ultra low would be the 100% softwoods. Inferno is only peddling the blend.

I haven't tried them, But have seen the ultra lows at TSC. They still haven't broke a pellet open to try as They are mostly using the TSC red and the new white bags for bag sales.

I have not seen the low ash and ultra low ash bags, what do they look like? I've only seen the traditional Nation's Choice bags at HD and the pallets are all wrapped. What little I saw at the beginning of the season at TSC was leftovers from last season and didn't give it a second look. I would say for the past 1.5 months, the TSC stores around here are getting nothing but the new white bags. Is anyone else still seeing new deliveries of pellets in their "real brand" bags at TSC, or is it just the white bags like around here?

I agree with this G, I was pleasantly surprised with the few bags I picked up last year for testing.

My TSC has so many out in the lot they stopped ordering. The last few trucks were the white bagged TSC brand.

Wife stopped yesterday for pet supplies. Asked her to look and get the UPC, Still MWP by the front entrance. Seems they are about the only thing they are using for single bag sales lately. The last pallet I saw was GS and that was a while ago.

Now here is a pic I took last week of some Inferno Gold and the Corinth from a spring of 2014 purchase. The lighter ones are the Corinth

Hmmmm, my Corinths from last year were their blend. My dealer was told back then that the softwood portion was more than 50%-I cant remember the exact number he told me. I will hopefully get my hands on some of the Ultra Low ash bags today.

Those Corinths are very light in color! This morning I stopped by a TSC I had been to in July when I was scouting inventories for the early buy. In July, among other things, they had a couple tons of AWF hardwoods leftover from last season, so I had put a ton on layaway. It was like the place was frozen in time. Everything was still there from July, I had to do a double-take to confirm the pallets still have the July date written on them. Never seen anything like this before, the product just isn't moving. Anyway, I got my layaway refunded and then stopped at the local TSC and picked up 2 bags of the Currans in TSC bags, that are labeled 100% hardwoods. Not sure these are really 100% hardwoods, I cut a bag open and they are very salt and pepper looking. When the hopper is empty of FSUs, I will throw these in and see how they do.

I heard like 60% softwood and 40% hardwood. Another said 80% soft, So nothing solid! Just a rumors.

I assume to be a softwood blend it requires a higher softy amount than hard?

Not sure Corinths make a 100% hardwood pellet anymore. Last I was told they were gearing softwood as its easy to get and cleaner overall. I lost my contacts, So no way to confirm. But I'll shoot of an email for giggles!!

Yeah and they burn really clean and heat output is great for the price paid, although not as hot as LaCrete. I paid 249 for them last year and bought a ton-I should have bought 2-3 at that price.
