Oak: white, northern and so red, chestnut, post, willow, shumard, black, scarlet Red and Sugar maple American and European hornbeam Pignut and Mockernut Hickory Ash Blackgum Foster Holly Cherry Dogwood Kentucky Coffeetree Sourwood It’s not all seasoned, some are new additions and small species=small wood. The bulk of my hoard is Oak species. They are big and are dying and falling over all the time. Pretty sure I’ve already burned any bl I had. I’d like to find a big ol dead persimmon to add to the collection. I know where some big dead Sassafras is, but they are not in a convenient location.
Apple, ash, beech, white birch, black birch, a little yellow birch, cherry, catalpa, elm, sugar maple, red maple, red and white oak, black locust, a little honey locust, pitch pine, poplar, mulberry, I think that's it.
Shagbark hickory Sugar Maple Ironwood Beech Ash American Elm Paper birch Honey locust Black locust Fir Box elder Siberian elm White pine Apple Black cherry Norway maple Red oak Silver maple Red maple Black walnut Basswood Hmm. Think that's it. May be missing one or two though. Lots of ash though here due to the EAB
13 cords total all CSS 1.5 cords of that are Fir (green/recent) about 70% of the 13 cords are Doug Fir The rest is Madrone Locust Cherry Maple Oak In that order I gave a cord of the Cedar Deodore to a friend in need and the other .5 cord sold to the neighbor's son ridiculously cheap for fire ring wood.
Listed from the most to the least... Lots of red oak. Red oak Red Maple Aspen Hickory White oak Cherry Then the last 10% is..... Sasafrass, black locust, Blue beech, sycamore, walnut, persimmon, mulberry.
In no particular order: Ash Apple Black Cherry Red Oak White Oak Chestnut Oak Beech Red Maple Sugar Maple Norway Maple Black Birch Yellow Birch White Birch Sassafras Quaking Aspen Blue Spruce Eastern White Cedar White Pine Tulip Poplar Black Locust Mimosa Elm Hickory Some kind of God-awful Gum
Most to least? For this season it's ash, silver maple, cherry, white pine and cottonwood. Might be a little bit of sugar maple and black locust too. Next year will be mostly red and white oak, with a whole bunch of other stuff in smaller quantities, including ash, hornbeam, beech, apple, white and black birch, locust and even some butternut. I have a huge diversity of wood species available to me, and I am willing to burn any of it. Except willow. Willow is crap.
Mostly red oak and white oak, some maple, and some popple (not "tulip poplar", but some form of aspen tree)("popple" is a local generic term for all forms of aspens)
Douglas Fir, Red Alder, Cherry, Apple, Spruce, Hemlock, Cedar and Maple. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cherry, red maple, shag bark hickory, small stashes of sugar maple, swamp white oak, and mulberry ready to burn. White oak, Beech and red oak for next year. Red cedar, white pine, spruce and hemlock for the fire pit.
We don’t have a big variety of hardwoods here. Red oak, beech, yellow birch, sugar maple are the hard hitters. Red maple and white birch in abundance. Limited hop hornbeam. Poplar ( quaking aspen). First time ever I have a couple small elm trees cut and split.
