Mystery to me

    This log was dumped off along with some nice ash. I don’t know what it is though but I was able to see these small leaves still attached. Thoughts?

    Ash has epicormic sprouts like that

    But ash leaves are compound correct?

    The leaf you are holding looks compound although stunted or immature. Probably the last gasps of ash riddled by eab.
