Here is the wood trailer (4x8) and the chute going into the basement. I’ve used a bigger trailer but it’s tight getting into the garage doors. It drops right next to the stove. So one guy sliding d oh en the chute or my 4 year old in this case. And one down stairs stacking. We can empty the trailer in 15 min.

While I haven't used a MM on it, I'm thinking that I'm ok with the stack of red oak I'm moving to the deck rack.

I came to the level where this was.

After moving that one more load, friends came together on the stack....if only for a short while.

With the blizzard/nor'easter targeting us this Saturday, I'll be bringing more of that 3+ year old red oak to the house. We'll be toasty.

In terms of a wood chute to the basement....I delivered a load kne day who wanted it just n his basement. I was like dammit....till he said hold on. Opened the window and slid in a piece of that green plastic septic line pipe that he'd cut in half. Man was that slick, literally. I'd toss the wood in and he was down there stacking. Gotter done in no time.

I can't comment on a furnace but I do know our wood is usually in the low teens. Flash forward to here 20 years later and burned though 6 cords during a bad winter and ordered more. It was wet, hard to light and did not put out the heat. We'd be in big trouble if our stoves required green wood!! How would that work, go cutting every few months and then it's only live trees to keep stock of green wood?

So I added a 125grain field point into the weight for my baro damper. I has it holding at .03" on a low fuel load and a larger fuel load. Hopefully this will keep me from overtemping.

I was looking at bringing in some wood from the outdoor pile, but its 5 degrees right now and the tractor wont start. This weekend it will be up to the 30's. I can fill the basement then.

Can you build a bigger chute? I put the biggest pieces in I can…..which likely have some moisture. I just choke the damper down and ensure the barometric is free.

I plan on using the same for a trough for the push thru box wedge. The idea being a single layer of splits should push right up there. We shall see how it works.

I brought in substantially less wood this year. Want to clean the stacks out entirely. There’s some in the back that’s been there over 20 years :)
