It’s really too bad, all they have to say is we do or don’t have a fix for this. The people that I have talked to seem very uncaring that the appliance that contains a fire within my home no longer does so. After only one month of use. My attitude would be much different if it had a few seasons on it.
Other than these instances with these stoves, this instance in particular, I have never heard of bad customer service from ESW, actually it’s been just the opposite. That said, with their seemingly lack of knowledge of issues with this stove and their seemingly unwillingness to console the customer in the moment, it makes me wonder if ESW even builds this particular model stove. I have no idea, but I have to wonder if it isn’t farmed out to someone else. This might explain any lack of speed in addressing any issues. I would not be afraid of the nc-13/30 stoves, but they’re going to have to get on the stick with helping Warner if they want to console potential buyers like me. I’d rather buy a sub-par stove and know a company will bend over backwards to help a customer.
Finally got through to someone with a brain at esw. Mike just told me that they will be shipping out a new door tomorrow. Anybody want a summers heat smart stove. I’ll give a heck of a deal... lol
A new door with no offer of an explanation as to the problem of the first door? I know you're going to sell the stove and likely don't care after getting the new door, but unless they ship a modified door the same thing will happen and they are just putting a band aide over two problems...the door itself, and the problem of their customer service. It's almost as if they're running from a problem instead tackling the issues at hand...and to them I say, England Stove Works..."for that reason, I'm out"!!!!
I have to say without question the glass should never fall out of a door and this should be addressed. But honestly when you buy one of the cheapest stoves in it's segment from a box store you can't really expect to get the same support or durability you get from stoves that cost 2 to 3x as much. But again this is a known serious problems that needs to be addressed.
In the past esw has had pretty good customer service. In the last year I have heard a few cases like yours. I don't know what is going on with them.
Well if we ever get the stimulus money wife said we should put some towards a real heater. She noticed while the summers heat was operational that there was much less feedings necessary.
We are also in need of some insulation in the attic. The fiberglass batts are barely flush with the joistswere probly around r18
As was mentioned already, Drolet makes some excellent "budget conscious" stoves! HT-3000 WOOD STOVE This is from their factory store...free shipping, and some excellent deals right now! This HT3000 is a beast and just happens to be 2020 certified too...
It looks like they corrected it. If Mike is Mike Holton, he seems to be a good guy. Used to hang around here, and he is missed. I suspect the forum was a little too much of an uncontrolled environment for providing customer support, and that drove him off. Just guessing.
That should be long enough now. I'd be tempted to make even longer ones even though they would be visible through the glass. So what. I'm surprised they don't send just the longer clips/retainers.
