If you afraid too much to dont loose the cir clip cover the piston with a nylon bag and work inside the bag its a little more dificult but the bag keep the c-clips

It's worth mentioning that installing our little 10 and 12 mm clips by hand (fingers) is damm near impossible. You will bleed and cuss profusely so better to forget about trying it.

    Why not a screwdriver?

better use a small needle nose pliers than a screwdriver , works better for 10mm circlips

By screwdriver is fine and dandy. Just the fingers-only method shown in the video is madness on these small clips.

Needle nose pliers ( for electronics if you have ) works much more better for 8 or 10 mm cir clips than a screwdriver

I got my new circlips installed but they don't seem right to me, what do you guys think? They don't seem as thick as the old ones. [IMG]the OEM circlip is in in this picture

They actually look like they fit in the recess and not like there waiting to pop out and destroy that motor!

As long as that wrist join can't work out and the clip is tight thats alright.

Ya I pushed on the wrist pin and it seems like it's not going to work its way out! I compared the new OEM clip and the aftermarket and the aftermarket one seems thicker than the OEM one, you think this is normal or did I get the wrong clips from stihl?

More like the chinese didnt copy it right or used one off the shelf that was not application specific?

I like the way those stihl ones fit better from seeing your pic.

Its more likely that the other parts are copied down to the thousandth but the circlips are just pulled out of a bin and not copied.

I would turn the clips so that the opening faces the piston skirt but that's just me and my OCD.
